TAXES AND LICENSING CLERK

GENERAL NATURE OF WORK

This position is responsible for the processing of City Occupational Licensing, which includes issuing new and existing business licenses.  Also, it is the responsibility to oversee the City Taxes, which includes billing and collecting of the monies.  Also, responsible for issuing various other permits. Duties are performed under general supervision.

EXAMPLES OF THE WORK

The following are examples of the duties assigned to this position:

  • Receive and process all new and existing occupational licenses within the city limits.
  • Receive and process all city taxes
  • Receive and process monies received for alcohol taxes from local restaurants
  • Issues Employee Alcohol Pouring Permit
  • Issues new and existing restaurants beer, wine and liquor license
  • Issues new and existing package store permits and licenses
  • Issues various other permits for park use
  • Maintains and schedules events for park use
  • Assist at the front desk, when needed, which includes assisting with water customers, answering phones, accepting tax payments and other various duties
  • Assist other employees, as requested
