The City of Blue Ridge Finance Department is responsible for the overall financial services of all departments within the City and adheres to generally accepted governmental accounting principles. The department identifies appropriate financial information and communicates this to the managers and decision makers in order that they may make informed judgements and decisions. Some duties of the Finance Department are:

  • Accounts Payable
  • Measurement & Reporting of financial results-internally and externally
  • Managing expenses on capital projects & related debt
  • Maintaining fixed asset & inventory records
  • Managing the City’s cash and investments
  • Annual Budget administration and preparation
  • Federal government regulatory reporting
  • Preparation of annual financial statements
  • Coordination of the annual audit with the City’s external auditors
  • Management of property and liability insurance
  • Payroll processing & human resource management
